FIRE WARDEN ORGANIZATION OF KARNATAKA
STATE FIRE SERVICES.

1. Aims and objectives
a: Act as reserve voluntary form.
b: Take forward Students Association of Fire Education
(SAFE) activities by providing
public education within the student community in all
aspects of life/fire safety including
providing instruction in fire preventions, fire extinguishment
methods and other related
aspects.
c: Instruct citizens regarding extinguishment of minor
fires pending the arrival of the
department.
d: Investigate and evaluate various community needs
and implement programs.
e: Plan, conduct and develop safety programs, fire precautionary
programs, burn
precautionary programs etc.
f: To bring out publicity materials such as handouts,
posters, booklets etc for public
distribution, to inculcate fire safety awareness.
g. Render first aid to injured, in fire accidents and
other disasters.
2. Eligibility
a: be a citizen of India.
b: between 18 and 65 years of age at the time of application
for recruitment.
c: a resident of Karnataka by birth or by domicile.
d: be mentally and physically fit.
e: shall have a fairly good knowledge of Kannada, English
and Hindi.
f: shall not be convicted in any offence by any court
of law.
g: he shall be in a position to purchase fire warden
uniform and other uniform items at his
cost.
h: Ordinarily not be an officer of any regular or auxiliary
military units or other essential services. However,
if the officer is willing to render the services, as
per the REGS-FW and if the employer has no objection
to this effect, the officer may be considered eligible,
on production of a no-objection letter from the competent
authority.
i: Preferably those who have undergone 30 days basic
fire fighting course at R.A.Mundkur Fire Service College,
Bangalore or those who have undergone rescue/fire fighting/first
aid training at Home Guards and Civil Defense training
college.
3. Procedure of enrolment
a: The application form has to be obtained from the
Office of the DGP and Director, Karnataka State Fire
Services, no. 1, Annaswamy Mudaliar Road, Bangalore-560
042.
b: The application form, after filling shall be sent
to Office of the DGP and Director, Karnataka State Fire
Services, no. 1, Annaswamy Mudaliar Road, Bangalore-560
042.
c: The office of the DGP and Director, Karnataka State
Fire Services, no. 1, Annaswamy Mudaliar Road, Bangalore-560
042 will inform the applicant regarding interview and
selection.
4. Rank, order and strength
State Chief Fire Warden- One for the state.
Chief Fire Warden. - One for each city/district.
Senior Fire warden -One for each city/District.
Fire warden - Not less than ten numbers.
5.Training
Every fire warden has to undergo training in basic
fire fighting, first aid and evacuation procedures at
Fire Service Training College or nearest Fire Station.
The details of training will be communicated by the
o/o the DGP and Director, Karnataka State Fire Services,
Bangalore.
